Is your dog ready for an RGVDawg Adventure?:
Is he/she:
*well-socialized with different types of dogs (male/female/big/small/playful/shy) and people (including men/women/children)?
*able to handle different locations which include new smells/sights/sounds/distractions?
*comfortable sitting/lying quietly on a mat/towel for long periods of time?
*willing to take a nap while we eat/drink/socialize?
Do you have your RGVDawg Adventures essentials?:
*clean-up/poop bags
*sturdy 4-6ft leash with collar - NO retractable/Flexi leashes please!
*Rabies Vacc's + Name/ID tags on your dog's collar
*water/water bowl (in case the location we are going to doesn't provide any for the dogs)
*small supply of treats (except for Dog Park outings!)
When restaurants/bars/coffee shops allow us to bring our dogs it is a privilege and we should do everything we can to impress the owners and staff so that we will be invited back. They should be impressed not only by our well-behaved and friendly dogs, but also by our ability to handle and control them properly at all times. Our goal is for the other restaurant patrons to get up as they are leaving the establishment, see the dogs, and exclaim "I didn't even notice there were dogs here!" :)
